The SMPS Crusader EC-FA Medium is a proven heavy-duty combat rucksack designed for dismounted soldiers operating with full mission loadouts. Built as a true workhorse, it combines high load capacity, modularity, and front-access functionality to support extended operations and rapid access to critical equipment.
The SMPS Crusader EC-FA Medium is engineered for demanding military use where reliability, load management, and adaptability are critical. Designed around the SMPS (Specialist Modular Pack System), this rucksack is capable of carrying a soldier’s complete combat equipment while maintaining balance and comfort under heavy loads.
At the core of the design is the rear envelope system, positioned centrally on the back. This envelope allows long weapon systems, radios, ammunition boxes, or anti-tank systems to be carried securely without opening the main compartment. A radio can be operated directly from the envelope, and the system is compatible with the optional SMPS Weapon Bag Medium.
The pack features the Falanx back system with an aluminium frame for efficient load transfer. A removable back pad creates space for ballistic protection when required, and a dedicated cover is included for use when the pad is removed. Front Access (FA) allows rapid entry to the main compartment without unpacking the rucksack.
Two detachable MMPS side pockets are included and can be zipped together to form a standalone daypack. Shoulder straps and a chest strap for this configuration are stored in the top compartment. The pack is hydration-system compatible and includes ski attachment points on both the side pockets and the main body.
Designed for stability under load, the hip belt tightens forward for efficient adjustment, while 38 mm wide load lifter and shoulder straps ensure durability and comfort during prolonged movement.
