Steelcore was founded in 2022 by a team of reservists and Defence League members who experienced firsthand the challenges of finding quality equipment. We know what it's like to prepare for exercises, search for reliable gear, and need equipment that actually works when it matters.
What started as a small operation serving fellow Defence League members has grown into Europe's Defence Marketplace — but our mission remains the same: equipping those who protect and serve with the gear they need.

We're proud to supply the Estonian Defence Forces, Estonian Defence League (Kaitseliit), Police and Border Guard Board, Rescue Board, and local municipalities across Estonia. We've also equipped defence force members and municipalities in Finland.
Our Story
Every member of our team — from leadership to warehouse operations — is either a reservist or an active member of the Estonian Defence League. This isn't just a business for us. We understand the weight of a plate carrier after 20 kilometers, the importance of a reliable headlamp during night exercises, and why quality medical equipment can make all the difference.
We've built our product selection based on real experience from deployments, exercises, and direct feedback from users in active crisis and conflict zones. When we recommend a product, it's because we've tested it ourselves or trusted colleagues have put it through its paces.
What We Offer
Today, Steelcore offers over 2,000 products from 200+ trusted brands through 40+ suppliers. From tactical gear and protective equipment to first aid supplies and outdoor essentials — we stock what soldiers actually need.
Our warehouse in Tallinn, Estonia ensures fast delivery across the Baltics and Finland, with shipping to all of Europe. Every product we stock meets rigorous standards and is fit for use by professionals in the armed forces, law enforcement, and emergency services.

We're a small team of around 10 people building Europe's Defence Marketplace. Our leadership combines military experience with tech and business expertise.
Karl Kaju
Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder
Second-time founder with deep expertise in growth and e-commerce. Karl previously built a marketplace that scaled to over 2 million users and partnered with 100+ suppliers. He brings this experience to Steelcore's mission of building Europe's leading defence equipment marketplace.
Tõnis Välimäe
Chief Product Officer & Co-founder
Second-time founder with over a decade of hands-on service in the Estonian Defence Forces, including experience as a JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller). Tõnis brings deep operational understanding of what equipment actually works in the field and ensures our product selection meets real-world needs.
Robert Käsper
Government Sales Lead
Former special forces operator with extensive experience in military and law enforcement. Robert previously managed over €50M annually in defence investments at the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments. He leads our work with government and institutional customers.
Behind our leadership team is a dedicated operations crew handling everything from warehousing to customer support and shipping. Every single one of them is a reservist or active member of the Estonian Defence League. When you contact us with a question about gear compatibility or sizing, you're talking to someone who has actually used this equipment.
