The Snugpak Torrent Extreme WGTE Jacket is the cold-weather upgrade to the standard Torrent platform, built for missions and expeditions where winter conditions are non-negotiable. With 50% more Softie® insulation than the regular Torrent WGTE and fully taped seams, this jacket delivers serious sub-zero warmth while remaining completely waterproof, windproof, and breathable.

At its core is Snugpak’s exclusive Softie® synthetic insulation, engineered to retain heat even in wet environments. The Torrent Extreme is rated for comfort down to –12°C and low-use performance to –17°C, making it a dependable outer layer for prolonged exposure in freezing rain, snow, or icy wind. Despite the added warmth, the jacket keeps a technical fit, minimizing bulk while supporting movement and layering.

Weather protection is locked in by the Paratex Dry outer fabric (100% nylon) with PU 10,000 mm hydrostatic head, combined with fully taped seams for total water resistance. Breathability remains field-proven, transmitting up to 7.5 L of moisture per m² / 24h, helping regulate heat during active use.

The Torrent Extreme is built for real-world use. A fully insulated detachable hood can be rolled away into the collar or zipped off entirely, and dual side/rear adjusters let you fine-tune fit against wind or driving rain. A brushed polyester-lined neck warmer adds comfort while sealing in heat.

Storage is practical and deep: hand-warmer pockets protect gloves and essentials while their thermal lining keeps hands warm, and a hidden internal chest pocket secures valuables. All main access points use YKK® weatherproof zippers, including a durable two-way front zip. When effort rises, underarm ventilation zips with mesh backing allow immediate heat dump without compromising protection.
